Why does the display only shows "Searching"?
Check that SIM Card has sufficient credit. At least 50Mb is required in SIM for activation
Search for SIM 3G APN information of respective mobile network operator. Enter information manually, when the menu appears
If you see an "R" on the top left hand quadrant of display screen, there is an additional process that is required before "Change APN", as a menu appears after 3-5 minutes of "searching network", there is a tab to select "Start Roaming". After selecting that, restart the watch and you should see "3G/H+/H"; proceed to "Change APN" from there.

Why is myFirst Fone always in the Detecting Sim Card screen?
Your SIM may be detected but it may not have been secured with the ledge. Please check that SIM card has been secured with the metal fastener and restart the myFirst Fone device.
Please check that your SIM supports 3G devices; we highly recommend customers to go to counter and request for assistance of staff for the APN process.
Why is myFirst Fone not able to boot-up and is flickering between on and off?
This could be due to many reasons. A quickest solution to this is to manually install the firmware.
Please email to email@example.com describing the issue of myFirst Fone, include your country of use and the support team can provide you with a downloadable link to watch firmware and step-by-step guide for reference.
Installation will require a Windows OS PC/Laptop and takes 5-10 minutes to complete when done accordingly.
Why does GPS location of myFirst Fone not show on my mobile app?
Please restart the myFirst Fone and ensure that you select 'agree' when prompted to enable Google Location. This is often missed out during initial set-up and can affect functionality of myFirst Fone.
Why does myFirst Fone ask for my PIN Code?
Some SIM card may be locked. You will require a mobile phone to unlock the SIM card by inserting the locked SIM card into the mobile phone. Please note that different models of phones require different steps to do so. See more here.
Why can't I call myFirst Fone from my smartphone?
Caller ID is required for myFirst Fone to recognize the incoming caller number. This is part of the encryption to prevent unknown callers to reach your child.
If you are unable to make the call, using the myFirstFone app, please try again using the default voice call app installed on your mobile phone.
Why are there no contacts after pairing my smartphone?
Due to the massive list, contacts may take a while to reflect. Simply restart the watch to reconnect it to our servers so that it can send request to retrieve this information from the servers again.
How do I assign a specific smartphone as the admin phone?
There can only be ONE admin account holder for individual watches. You can unbind the current admin account and bind with the preferred account on the mobile app on another phone.
Why does the battery drain so quickly?
The standby battery life of myFirst Fone is 24 to 36 hours. Battery consumption is highly dependent on usage. The most battery consuming function of myFirst Fone is GPS tracking. We recommend admin users to set "Tracking Mode" to a 1-hour frequency.
I am able to call but not able to access the GPS, Message, Alarm functions.
This is a common sign of using SIM that is meant for IoT devices (GPS Alarms, Trackers, Cameras). Please ensure to buy SIM card that is meant for regular smartphones.
How do I make video calls from myFirst Fone to paired mobile devices?
myFirst Fone CANNOT make videos calls but CAN receive video calls only.
How do I set alarm for myFirst Fone?
There are 2 methods to set alarm: 1. Admin account holder can create/delete alarm in mobile app under settings. 2. On myFirst Fone, slide to Alarm icon, tap Add Alarm to create alarm and slide the tab to the left to delete.
Is myFirst Fone waterproof?
No. It is not 100% waterproof and is not suitable for underwater activities. It is tested to be resistant to running water (from both vertical and horizontal directions).
Is myFirst Fone WIFI enabled?
Yes, myFirst Fone can be connected to any accessible Wifi points. On the watch, go to settings, go to Wifi tab, enable Wifi (checkbox), and tap into section to start searching for Wifi points to connect.
What SIM card should I use?
We recommend getting regular Nano SIM for smartphones that has sufficient data, voice talktime and caller ID to enjoy all functions of myFirst Fone
What is the supported GSM band?
myFirst Fone supports the following 2G GSM bands: 900/ 1800/ 850/ 1900MHz. Supported 3G WCDMA band: 2100/ 1900/ 1700/ 850/ 800MHz. Do check with your telephone company if they are on the supported bandwidth.
Oaxis will not be held responsible for any subscription fees or charges incurred due to wrong SIM card subscription taken up. Parents are urged to check with their local telco or SIM provider if they can support the myFirst Fone.
How does the SOS button work?
In times of emergency, it is crucial to be able to respond to it immediately. That is why we have prioritized a dedicated button for an emergency. By pressing onto the bottom right button, the emergency SOS is activated. A 30 second voice recording will be sent to the linked mobile phones and an SOS alarm will sound off.
What is Geofencing security?
Geofencing is a way of setting a boundary. You can set a perimeter to any location and if they wander outside that boundary it will notify you immediately. It's all about safety.
To do so, go to the Watch Phone app > Settings > Alert Area > Add Alert Area > Tap any location on the map that you consider to be safe > Set perimeter range > and click Save.
How do messaging works?
The messaging system is a unique communication program developed by our own computer engineers. It allows a child to simply speak into the watch and send a voice message to any device at no additional charge. It's a way of communication to help foster bond between parents and child. It also teaches responsibility by instilling the virtue of regular updates.
The messaging function can also send specially designed emoticons which quickly and accurately reflect an emotion.
Can my child call their friends?
Yes, they can call any number that you have added and approved to the watches phone book through the app. Once they add a new friend, a message will pop up and you will be notified. However, they cannot add a number; call a number that you have not authorized in the app. Once you have whitelisted a number, they can call and send voice messages to their friends. Calls are charged at standard rates, however our unique voice messaging system allows your child to simply send a voice message at no charge to any device anywhere.
What to do when the GPS is not accurate?
GPS accuracy depends on the network coverage and signal strength. If you are facing issues with GPS accuracy, please perform a simple test by connecting to Wifi and requesting for myFirst Fone location. If GPS location is accurate using Wifi, it means that there is a need to check with SIM network provider.
How do I perform a factory reset on myFirst Fone?
For bound watch: Go to physical watch settings > tap on the 'W' icon thrice > scroll to bottom to find 'factory reset'
For un-bound watch: Make sure to remove SIM card > At "insert sim card and restart myfirstfone" > press-and-hold red button on the side of watch > scroll to bottom to find 'factory reset'
QR code stays on screen even after I have scanned it using the app
Simply restart the device. This can happen when QR code has been displayed for too long before you were able to successfully pair myFirst Fone with smartphone.
What should I do when the watch is stuck in classroom mode?
This happens when the watch has lost data network connection while it is remotely set to Classroom Mode.
When myFirst Fone is stuck in classroom mode. Turn off classroom mode on mobile app using the Admin account and restart the watch.
Or unbind the watch from Admin account on mobile app under "About Device" and restart the watch.
Otherwise, please contact OAXIS at firstname.lastname@example.org to request for downloadable link to firmware. Updating the firmware manually will ultimately resolve this issue.
Why am I unable to scan the QR on the device?
Please make sure that you have installed the correct mobile app. We find that many users install "WatchPhone" app instead of "myFirstFone" app.
