One of the most common issue faced when using the Watch Phone for the first time is not getting the QR code to appear. This could be due to the reasons stated on our Troubleshooting page. However, if you see a 3G or H+ logo on the top left hand corner similar to the image below, it means that the SIM card is supported, but the APN has not been pre-loaded or preset onto the Watch Phone. This guide will teach you how to do just that.
1) If you see this (with the 3G/ H+ on the top left corner) it means your SIM can work on our Watch Phone. Keep this "Searching" mode active for 3 to 5 mins by tapping once every time the screen darkens. But do not continuously tap on the screen.
2) After 3 to 5 minutes, this will appear:
Tap on "Change APN". After which, you will be brought to the next page where you can select preloaded APNs of your SIM provider, or edit one to add in your own if it is not already there.
a) To select a preloaded APN, simply tap on the circle beside it. Make sure that it glows up, in this example, the bottom APN.
b) To edit a preloaded APN to the APN provided by your SIM card provider, perform the following steps:
i) Tap on the APN that you wish to edit. It will bring you to this page:
ii) Tap on the sections that needs editing and edit using the keyboard that will appear. Take your time to type as the keyboard is very small.
Once you have selected your preloaded APN or edited the APN, press onto the bottom right bottom to exit, ensure that you have selected your APN (you will need to see the glowing dot similar to above), and restart your Watch Phone by pressing onto the power button till you see this. Then press "Restart".
Once it is restarted, let it load up. If the APN is successfully registered onto the Watch Phone, the QR code will appear.
